There is no such thing as a Marine Corps Soldier. There are however Marine Corps Marines. Marines have basically the same job as US Soldiers, but Marines do it better, faster, and with less tears and tampons. Now I know this sounds like a biased answer, because it is. I am a United States Marine and I have had a long and interesting career along side soldiers. Most of them are incompetent little girls that can't shoot, and thought that signing a dotted line entitled them to an ego of "badassery", if I may. Essentially, the job description of the United States Marine is to be the best at whichever facet of the support or infantry element they are trained for. The name Marine can lead one to believe that we are amphibious, which is true, more so from a historical perspective than anything. The word amphibious nowadays refers to the fact that the navy taxis us around the world. In general, Marines run and shoot and run some more. And that's that.
The job of the Commandant of the Marine Corps is to serve as the highest-ranking officer in the United States Marine Corps. They are responsible for the administration, combat readiness, and effectiveness of the Marine Corps. They advise the President, Secretary of Defense, and other senior military officials on matters relating to the Marine Corps.
