JROTC is about the abiltiy to lead a group and conduct yourself in proper manner it also "MOTIVATE PEOPLE TO BECOME BETTER CITIZENS". Its not like the actual army where you have to wear your uniform every day, you only have to wear it once a week like on wednsday.

JROTC teaches leadership skills. If you know what ROTC is, well, Junior ROTC can serve basically as preparation for it... but you can still take JROTC and not go into ROTC.
