Yes, he has a half-sister (same mother, different father). She is younger and lives in Hawaii. Her father was Indonesian. There was a recent Time Magazine article about Barack's mother that includes an interview with his sister. I believe her name is Maya and she is a teacher, but I am not positive.
Yes, Maya Soetero
Yes he does-- he and his half-sister Maya (who was born in Indonesia during his mom's second marriage) are very friendly. She lives in Hawaii and they visit each other when they can. She was at Barack's inauguration both times, and he has visited her in Hawaii. As for his siblings from his father's side, he has met some of them (he journeyed to Kenya for the first time in the late 1980s), and he seems to have had a friendship with several of his half-brothers, one of whom attended his wedding in Chicago in 1992. But by most accounts, he is not very close with his paternal half-siblings.
He keeps in touch with his mother's daughter from Indonesia. I do not think he has much contact with the father's daughters in Africa.
You can send her and her sister a present by mail.
