Indiana voted "officially" Democrat in the 2008 elections. However most people are Republicans. The counties that voted democrat were the poorer counties in the north where the RV industry has tanked and left many people without a job.

The other counties that voted democrat have a high minority vote, and student vote such as around Notre Dame, IU, and Purdue.

democrat Edit: Wrong. Mitch Daniels is part of the Republican Party. He is probably one of the most Conservative Govenor in the United States. 2008-2012 is his last term in office. Indiana law allows 2, 4 year terms.
