For most persons, Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance Benefits,
or HIB) is free. Medicare Part B (Supplemental Medical Insurance
Benefits, or SMIB) premiums are typically deducted from ones Social
Security payments.
No, it is paid through social security. Medicare has a
deductible and the social security administration takes part of the
monthly payment to pay for the deductible. In my case I have my
entire social security taken and still don't meet the deductible so
I have to pay several hundred more to them to make up the
difference.
It say you have to sign up for Part B with social security but what if you want take Part B included with a supplemental plan, do you still have to take Part B thru social security?
If you want supplemental Medicare insurance you must be enrolled
in Part B thru Social Security.
