The 91 series Career Management Field is a lot different now then when I enlisted in 98.. it used to be Medical branch, and I was 91B, which is now wheeled vehicle mechanic, but was Combat Medic when I enlisted.
Looking at 91L, I can see that it's heavy equipment repair. It's a good skill to learn, and has an application in the civilian sector (unlike an MOS such as infantry, armour, cavalry, etc.). If you get deployed, however, it's a bit unlikely that it's the job you'll actually be doing - that's one of many occupations which has been outsourced to civilian contractors during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, so you'd probably be relegated to duties such as gate guard and such.
Yes! It is a good MOS. My MOS was 68E20 Prop 7 Rotor repair specialist. I served with the 101st Airborne Div, 101st Assault Helicopter Battalion LZ Sally Viet Nam 1968-1969
The safest MOS in the Army would be one dealing with the Army Band, Human Resources, or finance. These include the MOS - 42F, 42R9B, 42 S, or 44C.
MOS Military Occupational Specialty
Army 82nd airbone is a MOS. This is a job in the Army.
im a 63B currently in the active duty army, and its a great job, of course sometimes youll have to work late to get the mission done, if you dont like being a mechanic..then do NOT pick this mos because you will be working on wheeled vehicles alot, oh and this mos is changing to 91B
Mail clerk is a supplemental duty - it doesn't carry its own MOS.
