It depends on who you work for and where you live. I began working in the pharmacy at CVS and was paid around $7.50 not being certified. When I got certified, CVS only raised my hourly wage $.25. WOO HOO.... I was pissed. So I applied to Walgreens and I started out at around $11.50 being a certified pharmacy tech and I have been there now for 2 years and I am over $12 now. I have heard that each pharmacy does have a cap as far as how much one makes but I'm not sure what it is. Also, with Walgreens, if you become a senior tech, you make more money based on the amount of prescriptions filled.
When I started in May 2007 as a pharmacy tech in Chicago I was making $10.00/hour. Now I make $13.00/hour. I am certified and have been re-certified since August 2007.
It typically takes one year to obtain a pharmacy tech certification. Pharmacy techs make between $8.20 to $17.89 an hour depending on experience.

Im not positive,BUT, I have heard that you can work in a pharmacy for a year and then go and take your testing to get certified. You dont make as much as an already certified technician but you'll get a raise once you pass your certification. Call around and find out.
There is a range of money that could be made by ultra sound techs in Arizona. The best techs make the most.
they may start you around 7 dollars an hour You start out at minimum wage then after you are done with your training you get a raise as well as every March. I have been there 2 years and only make 8.52. But I am not certified through the state just CVS. If you are certified through the state board you make an extra dollar.
I'm only a pharmacy tech but I've worked around the pharmacists of course. They make sure the techs do their job and make sure they always have something to do. They check prescriptions to verify that it is the right medication for the right patient and bag it up and put it away for the customer. It can be a little different from retail to hospital but mainly the same thing. They supervise their techs and check and confirm medications. They also counsel the patients. Techs arent aloud to do that
