senate because there are 100 senates with 50 states and 2 senates for each state so with that begin said it's the senate and the second on is house of representatives because if you look up the legislative branch in Google it says the 2 main parts of the legislative government is the house of Representative and the senate.
This was the Connecticut Compromise. The Connecticut Compromise was an agreement reached in 1787. It was passed by large and small states reached during the Constitutional Convention. It defined the legislative structure and representation that each state would have under the US Constitution. Each state would have 2 representatives in the Senate, and in the House of Representatives, the number of seats would depend on population.
Since they both wanted a strong government, the legislative branch would have two houses. Each state would have two representatives in the senate. This gave each state and equal voice. In the house of representatives, the number of representatives for each state would be determined by the states population.
There would be 2 houses in Congress and representatives one be assigned a based on state population
As a change in the number of representatives (in Congress) directly changes the amount of power a state has in the House of Representatives, such a change would affect that state's power in getting legislation passed.
The Articles of Confederation, the first American system of national goverment, consisted of only a single (unicameral) legislative branch. This all changed during the formulation of the new Constution. The Great Compromise was chosen as the appropriate method of having a strong national government; the House of Representatives would be apportioned according to the populations of its states, whereas each state would have two members in the Senate. With the establishment of the Constitution and addition of the Senate in the legislative branch, the national government became bicameral.
the house of representatives would be able to spend more time doing legislative work than the senate because there are more members in the house of representatives than in the senate
The Congress, House of Representatives, and Senate..... Either of those would work
William Few believed that having state legislatures elect representatives to the national legislature would help maintain a balance of power between the states and the federal government. He believed that state legislatures were more likely to choose representatives who would prioritize the interests of their respective states, rather than being influenced by national political parties or other external factors.
The Virginia plan because both houses in the legislative branch would assign representatives according to state population, or wealth.
The arguments between the two plans was settled by adopting the Connecticut Compromise. This made a government with three branches; legislative, executive, and judicial. The Legislative was to be bicameral with the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives would take representatives from each state based on population (Part of the Virgina Plan's original proposition) and the Senate would take one representative from each state, equalling one vote per state (part of the New Jersey Plan).
That would be the United States Congress, composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
