∙ 16y agoDepends. Is the incorrect information a result of bank error or did you provide incorrect information? If you provided incorrect information, that is fraud and will be prosecuted through the criminal courts as well as any civil suits by the bank. If it is the result of bank error, they can still file suit, but are very unlikely to win.

Make a copy of the police report for the nice repoman. he can then double check the report and give the info to the lender. That was smart of you to file the report.
An info file can be opened using Notepad provided by Microsoft Windows. Simply right click on the file, selected open with, and use Notepad to view the file.

You have a duty to inform the police. You might [if you were unlucky] be prosecuted on your own account for withholding information.
Whatever info is important
It is totally up to you who you share your credit report info with, but it is against the law for a creditor or credit reporting agency to disclose any information regarding your file, only you have the authority to access your credit file and unless there is a permissible purpose as defined by law no one else including a creditor can access your file.
That option is up to the LENDER. Call the lender ASAP for more info.
Most of the time: Debtor(s) name, social, last known place of residence, last known place of employment, the legal owner's name and info, authority to repossess, the account information (such as the delinquency, acct #, and other pertinent info).phone numbers and references are sometimes included. UPDATE.. Debtors name, add, ph#, POE,co-signors nane, add,ph#,POE, VIN of car, description of car, NO SSN,DOB, other personal info. Some states require a copy of the title, written auth. to repo from lender. A LENDER CANNOT GIVE OUT YOUR SS #. This is why idenity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in this country. That is strictly confidential and if the lender does give it out, file complaints with the FTC and see an attorney. You are wrong, when you sign the finance contract you in 99% of the times give up the information to collateral recovery agents/companies

This is simple. You instruct whomever is driving the car to leave it at a dealership and notify the lender where it is. OR if you dont have that option, you tell the lender where the car is, who is driving it and any other info to help the lender repo the car.
