Actually some people got the same problem, and it seems the main cause is the misconfiguration of the firefox itself. some firefox plugins are not so friendly with Google maps. if you're not sure which plugin does the problem, try to disable all plugins, reset anything in firefox. run it with command-line firefox -safe-mode and disable, reset anything...
