US citizens can travel to Canada, Mexico and most of the Caribbean islands by ship or by land until Summer 2008 (the exact date has not been released) without a passport.

US citizens are also able to travel to any of the US territories and Commonwealth (Guam, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, etc) without a passport as long as the flights do not land in any foreign country. As of May 19, 2008: A US citizen can travel by land to Canada or Mexico, or take a round-trip cruise to the Caribbean or British Columbia, without a passport. This is changing, and by spring 2009 even US citizens will probably require a passport to re-enter the USA. While some countries will permit citizens of a few other countries to entry without requiring a passport or a visa, every country requires a passport or visa for entry from some other country. The number of countries permitting entry without a passport is declining because of security concerns.

To know if you can enter a country without a passport of visa, you have to say, at least, whcih country you are a citizen of.

Assuming that you are a US citizen...none. You need a passport or passport card to leave the US now due to new laws enacted after 9/11. You need one even to go to Mexico or Canada. However, you can go to a U.S. territory such as Puerto Rico without a passport.
