with orders and a military ID you will be fine. It is suggested you have a passport (for leave) but you can even travel back to the states with your leave paperwork and your mil id.

Yes, especially when you need to travel by plane. If you do not have one then you should apply to get one so that you can travel in and out of France. For non-citizens then you also need a visa in order to enter.
It is same as you fly to Germany or France, because we are in EU, hope i helped :)

A passport is basically your identification document allowing you to travel to other countries - without it, you can't cross international borders.
If you wish to travel internationally, you need a passport, no matter the circumstances.
Your military ID works as a passport. Just be careful to which places you travel. Flashing a military ID may not be greeted by a smiling face. While I was in, I would visit Mexico and just show my military ID and come back across.
No, your baby can't. Nobody can travel without a passport, and it makes no difference how old he is, or the destination.
