My husband and I have a date night, like many couples that have been together for years and have children. The 112 Eatery was on our list of must try's', and finally we did, try it that is. First of all finding it was a bit of fun. It is a little out of the way and hidden, but it was well worth the hunt.We made reservations and all was in order when we arrived. I hate it when you make a reservation and still have to wait. That's just sloppy in my book. I have to say that, I was enchanted by the humble yet somehow upscale feel to the place. It was like sitting in a fancy New York style loft. It had the mood' lighting that couples love, romantic old world brick walls and popular art to give it ambiance. The menu was really a big surprise. They have such a variety of selections. I ordered the Marinated Razor Clams and my sweetie ordered the 112 Steak Tartar for appetizers. Oh my word, I cannot express just how amazing both of these tasted! My mouth felt like it was on holiday! As a general rule, I don't bother ordering seafood of any kind from an inland restaurant. I am so glad that I broke the rules. I almost felt, dare I say it, naughty. But dinner had just started! For an entre we ordered the Togliatti with the foie grass meatballs and the Sauted Duck Breast Au Poivre, and I almost ordered the fried Chinese Eggs, I'm really glad that I didn't. We had enough food in these two meals for another two besides. We probably should have ordered a half-order of the Togliatti. Anyway, the fact that they make their own pasta really shows. It is absolutely amazing! I cannot rave enough about the difference between freshly made pasta and all of the other stuff. We were too full to order dessert, even though we had already picked out a couple of items. In the end it was a bit pricey but, we did get what we paid for and more, so no argument from us. In fact, we have decided that we'll be back!
