What would you be doing there? Working? Studying? Performing missionary or charitable work? In general terms, Mexico is cheaper than the US, and with only $20,000 you could have a very good life in Mexico for a whole year. On the other hand, some cities and regions in Mexico are quite dangerous due to the current war on drugs. It really depends on what are you going to do and where are you going.

How much is 1 acre in Mexico?

1 acre is roughly 4000 square meters. If you mean how much for an acre in Mexico, it would depend on where is such real estate located. For instance, land on the outside of Ciudad Juarez (close to the US-Mexico border) is around 752 pesos per square meter (or USD 200,000 for the whole acre). Land on the upscale areas of Mexico City would be around 4,600 pesos per square meter, or US 1.2 million for the whole acre.
