It is a simple question for which I do not have a simple answer as of May 4. There are a lot of efforts being made to keep the oil spill away from area beaches through oil booms, but bad weather and winds can make containment difficult. The containment dome is scheduled to be installed very soon. The spill has been moving eastward, towards Florida, but destined to reach Florida? I'm just not sure.
See related link of the NOAA website, where they track the spill.
This depends on the oil spill. The BP oil spill was 50-60 miles SE of the coast of Louisiana. It has since hit the shores of all the states in the Gulf of Mexico. Due to the gulf stream, oil particulate is expected to reach the East coast of America as well as parts of Europe.

Everyone that lived in the Gulf Coast got effected by the Gulf oil spill. Almost everyone that lives near the Gulf Coast rely on the waters e.g seafood. If the fishermen were effected then restaurants were also effected.
BP British Petroleum is solely responsible for the oil spill off the coast of Louisiana.

As of 2010 July 16, the bp gulf oil spill has not reached Corpus Christi, Texas. It is possible that the oil spill may reach it in the upcoming months, depending on weather conditions.
one would be the oil spill on the gulf coast
On the east coast, there is the Alantic Ocean. To the west coast, there is the Gulf of Mexico, which is the area that has the terrible oil spill right now.
