It was a German protectorate from 1900 to 1914, consisting of the islands of Upolu, Savai'i, Apolima and Manono. After 1920, the League of Nations gave it to England. After 1946, New Zealand administered it until independence in 1962. It is now part of Independent Samoa
German Samoa was created in 1900.
German Samoa ended in 1919.
Occupation of German Samoa happened on 1914-08-30.
Samoa P.S I dont know what a Samoa is.
During WWI Australia occupied the large German colony in New Guinea and New Zealand occupied the German colony of Samoa. I don't know what happened to the smaller German possessions.
New Zealand occcupied German Samoa at the start of WWII, as Western Samoa. In 1962 the island became independent and it dropped the word Western from its name in 1997.
I dont know if Samoa Joe was actually born in Samoa, but I do know that he is of Samoan descent. He wasn't born in samoa.
China never had ownership or sovereignty over Samoa. Under the Tripartite Convention of 1899, the control of the islands was split between the US and the German Empire. The eastern islands remain a territory of the US, known as American Samoa. The western islands became German Samoa until World War I, thereafter the New Zealand protectorate called Western Samoa, and finally independent Samoa in 1962.
At the beginning of WW1 Samoa was called German Samoa and in the early days of the war it was occupied by New Zealand. At the begining of WW2 Samoa, then called Western Samoa was still under New Zealand's protection and allied itself with the allies.
New Zealand occcupied German Samoa at the start of WWII, as Western Samoa. In 1962 the island became independent from all overseas countries and it dropped the word Western from its name in 1997.
They are the same in that Samoans in American Samoa and Samoa (once Western Samoa) have the same heritage. However, American Samoa is a US territory while Samoa is an independent nation. So they are in effect two different countries.
The two that I know of from New Zealand is Air New Zealand and Virgin Samoa.
