Well, male budgies do get along.Your cage might not be big enough is one reason. If you have 2 budgies you NEED to have 2 of everything so they wont fight.2 food and water bowls,2 cuttlebones,2 treats or whatever. If they still don't get along consider getting another cage so they stay happy :D
If you got them for company they will still sing to each other but have their cage and toys!
its a type of friendship
The parakeets would much rather be with other parakeets, THEY ARE FLOCK BIRDS!!! However, if you have more than one parakeet, they will not bond to you because they are bonding to the other parakeets. The reason that parakeets bond so well is that they are flock birds and so if you make yourself part of their flock, they will bond very well. But if you are wondering what would make them happy, they would much rather be with other parakeets. A good parakeet site is www.lisashea.com/petinfo/budgie.html
I have a parakeet that is hurting my others, so i am putting her in a smaller separate cage next to the one the other parakeets are in.
Unless you are talking about a video game with a parakeet character, parakeets get just one life like any other organism.
Parakeets are technically omnivores, but the animal-derived food that they normally eat is the occasional insect. It's not common for them to eat meat. It is possible for a parakeet to eat its own young but it is not likely. An inexperienced parent bird may kill its chicks but it probably will not eat them.
You shouldn't because the male will mate with one of them and parakeets hate being lonely and the other one will be left out....
Training parakeets and other exotic birds requires much patience. Search Wiki Answers for what you're specifically trying to train the parakeet to do.
Parakeets like other parakeets. In the wild many birds are in one flock. I'd say your best bet is to get another Parakeet if you want it to get a different bird a cockatiel would be okay. age and sex matters and you need to get them at the same time or they fight because the old bird thinks it's his/her turf. If you already have a parakeet you should get another parakeet.
no this is not average parakeet behaviour. my parakeet loves grapes and its aroun 5 a day. however it does not matter as long as he is eating well on lots of other things and some other type of fruit
A parakeet blinks their eyes to prevent them from getting dry, as most other land creatures do. If parakeets didn't blink, their eyes would dry and they would not be able to see!
Well it depends on the situation. My mom had a few parakeets and there was one same couple of parakeets. One day the female parakeet laid 5 eggs. The next day there was only 3 left and the other 3 had been smashed on the floor. Looked like the male parakeet had killed them. But mostly there is a 25% chance of the parents killing the baby parakeets. Hope this was a lot of help.
It depends, if they r both females, no unless its the babies mother and yes if they are both male or if one is male and the other is female. But sometimes parakeets only like the parakeets they think are pretty so its kind of anonymous.
