What was referred to as communism in Russia was no more then a Dictatorship where the people that lived under it were ruled by an iron fist so to speak. What happened to it was that as an organization it eventual became unable to sustain itself as its means of production were evermore antiquated. the old leadership collapsed and a new leadership emerged from it. Corrupt but never the less more able to produce the goods required to sustain its people.

This is what you think because you don't know the whole truth. It is, probably, because nobody showed you the full picture of the world on the TV attached to the wall next to tour cage.

Russia was never a Communist country (which would mean no classes or money). The USSR was state capitalist, and Russia now is mainly private capitalist.
