China is classed as a Newly Industrialised Country because it has many factories which export products worldwide but it is not yet classed as a High Income Country because it is very overpopulated (which is why they introduced the one child policy) so it hasn't got enough money in the country to provide for all of the population of the country.

Hong Kong is a city, not an independent nation.

Ever since the British commenced its industrial revolution, the economy of Hong Kong boomed with it. Known as one of the Big Three and as one of the Four Asian Tigers, Hong Kong is an epicenter of world-wide trading and an economical powerhouse in Asia. It was rated as having the freest economy in the world since 1995.
