Death Valley is a National Park so the number of people who live there or can live there is limited. First there are National Park Service staff who live in an area of the park called Cow Creek, with some others up near Scotty's Castle. Second there are Concession employees who work for Xanterra and they live in housing at Furnace Creek Ranch and Stovepipe Wells. And finally (but certainly not least - and actually were the first - and most significant historically) there is a reservation for the Timbisha- Shoshone tribe members. And that's pretty much it for those who live within Death Valley National Park.
