The Jamaica Teacher's Association is a union encompassing most of the teachers in Jamaica. The Teacher's Association therefore is responsible for, and mandated to "make representation on matters related to education and teachers" to the government of Jamaica on behalf of teachers.
As of May 2014, there are nine trade union in Jamaica. The trade unions include the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union, Jamaica Airline Pilots Association, Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, Jamaica Civil Service Association, Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, Jamaican Teachers Association, Jamaican Union of Public Officers and Public Employers, National Workers Union and Nurses Association of Jamaica.
The Scout Association of Jamaica was created in 1910.
The Girl Guides Association of Jamaica was created in 1915.
Ethiopian Teachers' Association was created in 1949.
Alberta Teachers' Association was created in 1918.
Association of Teachers of Mathematics was created in 1950.
Association of University Teachers was created in 1909.
Newark Teachers Association was created in 1969.
California Teachers Association was created in 1863-05.
