North Carolina symbol?
The state of North Carolina has many symbols. For example, the
state bird is the cardinal, and the state flower is the dogwood.
Its motto is "Esse quam videri", which is contained in the Great
Seal of North Carolina. This seal was designed in 1871 and also
depicts two female figures named Liberty and Plenty, and the dates
May 20, 1775 and April 12, 1776.
