The question wasn't which African nations have the lowest population - the question was which African nations are mostly uninhabited. To find the answer to that question look at the population densities of African nations to figure it out. There are probably lots of lists online - wikipedia for sure.
Africa isn't uninhabited. There are some parts which are uninhabited, generally because the climate and environment in that particular region don't provide the resources to sustain life, but Africa as a whole is quite populated.
