According to the Texas Department of State Health Services as of 29 July 2009:

Following similar actions by the WHO and CDC, DSHS will discontinue reporting novel H1N1 flu cases effective Aug. 1. Individual case reporting is resource-intensive, and because people with respiratory illnesses now are not always tested for flu, case counts represent a significant underestimate of the true number of novel H1N1 flu cases in Texas. Texas is returning to using its standard seasonal flu surveillance network to track and report flu activity.
