The Lutine Bell
Interestingly enough the financial institution Lloyds TSB and Lloyds of London are not related in anyway. Lloyds TSB was founded in the 18th century while Lloyds of London was founded by Edward Lloyd who was a coffeemaker.
The Lutine bell (the bell from a ship called the HMS Lutine, which sank in 1799) is in Lloyds of London - the insurance brokers.The bell was struck when news of an overdue ship arrived - once for the loss of a ship, and twice for its return.
