Is the Berlin airlift the same as the Berlin blockade?
No. The Soviets instituted the Berlin blockade, so the allies initiated the Berlin airlift to get supplies to civilians inside the blockaded city.
Is the Northern Blockade and the Anaconda Plan the same thing?
The blockade was one of the three elements of the Anaconda Plan. Part two was control of the Mississippi while part three was denial of the West to the Confederate States.

The Berlin Blockade and airlift were important for the development of the Cold war because it was one of the first crises which happened during the Cold War. The Berlin Blockade changed many people's lives in West Berlin as the Soviets had blocked food supplies, energy supplies and gas to West Berlin by closing all roads and railways. This lead to the USA and Britain having to supply West Berlin by sending airplanes filled with supplies to West Berlin. In order for West Berlin to survive, they needed 4000 tonnes of food a day which meant that aeroplanes filled with supplies landed every 30 seconds. This was called the Berlin airlift. As a result of this, 79 American and British pilots lost their lives. In May 1949 Stalin called off the Berlin Blockade as the Soviets realised that the people of West Berlin were managing fine with the help of the USA and the UK.

If one can draw analogies with battles or campaigns in a regular or(Hot) war, the Berlin blockade-and the airlift that ensued can be described as major (Campaigns) as they were spread out. There was much popular propaganda(on Buses as late as the sixties) indirectly pushing the Berlin theatre- ads for CARE packages , nealty camouflaged Gi"s pushing Defense bonds, etc, all of this long after the(Big Lift). The Berlin Airlift qualilfies as a majopr Campaign in action, though not combative, and not merely a propaganda pitch. In fact the Armed Forces issued what was called a Campaign medal to the members and survivors of the Berlin Humanitarian action as it was called, nearly all to USAF personnel, thogh some Navy tranport squadrons(land based, using Constellations and the like) were also seconded to this important operation.

What happened during Berlin blockade?

The Soviets, regarding the economic consolidation of the three Allied occupation zones in Germany in 1948 as a threat to the East German economy, blockaded all transportation routes between Berlin and West Germany. The U.S. and Britain responded by supplying the city with food and other supplies by military air transport and airlifting out West Berlin exports. An Allied embargo on exports from the Eastern bloc forced the Soviets to lift the blockade after 11 months.
