You know where North America is.... And South America... Just North of South America is a very narrow country, that is Panama. The Canal runs North West to South East across the Isthmus of Panama. (Isthmus is the name of a narrow area of land connecting 2 larger land areas)
The Panama canal is completely in the country of Panama.

A boat traveling from the Pacific to the Atlantic via the Panama Canal would be traveling northwest. Although the Pacific Ocean is west of the Atlantic Ocean in Central America, at Panama the Caribbean Sea arm of the Atlantic is to the north, and the Pacific to the south. Canal builders took advantage of natural lakes and valleys, so the actual orientation of the canal is NW to SE. (see linked map) Going from the Atlantic (Caribbean Sea) to the Pacific, ships travel to the southeast.
panama would be located south of the u.s. and north of south america know as central america next to costa rica
Panama lies at the very southern tip of Central America. This country connects the continents of North America and South America.
The Suez Canal is located in Egypt. East of Cairo and before the Sinai Peninsula. See related link for a map. In addition, the canal was the work of forced labor. It was completed in 1869.
Yes it is due to the fact that the map says so
The main reason of the construction of the Panama canal was to reduce the overall voyage tome for ships to to cross from one ocean to another. As Panama is (relatively) narrower, it was deemed an ideal place. Also because Panama has existing bodies of water- in particular Lake Gutan- the canal would be able.to pass right through it and thus reducing the workload
