Savannah, GA, is an excellent place to visit as long as you understand that it is a coastal city with humidity and the critters that come with it (cockroaches and deerflies), and that if you visit to see the azaleas in the spring, you will also have to put up with the biting sand gnats. The archetecture is amazing, wrought iron is stunning and the squares are peaceful. For the historian there are a lot of corners with tales to tell. And if you need a break, there is always the River Walk or head for the beach. You also might learn a thing or two about shrimping or crabbing if you hang out in Thunderbolt. Ghost chasers? We have just as many as they do in Charleston, so come on down!
