Canada's ninth province, Saskatchewan, entered Confederation on September 1, 1905. Saskatchewan (pronounced Sas-katch'-i-wun) is between Manitoba and Alberta, and north of the US states of Montana and North Dakota.
The largest city in Saskatchewan is Saskatoon (pronounced Sas-ka-toon'). It is almost straight north of Fort Peck, Montana.
There is no truth to the suggestion that a loud winter sneeze is called a Sask-atchoo.
