Today the actual location of Tun Tavern is occupied by Interstate 95, where it passes along Penn's Landing. Tun Alley once existed between Walnut and Chestnut Streets east of Front Street. The Tun Tavern was burned down in 1871 as the American Revolution came to a close. The cause and who did it is unknown but it has been rebuilt as a landmark.
