It is, rather, very misleading statement that Kaaba was built in 1981. Kaaba was first built by Hazrat Adam (AS). It was completely washed away during the Great Flood of Hazrat Noah (AS). It was rebuilt on the same foundations by Hazrat Abraham (AS) and Hazrat Ismaiel (AS). It was much before the birth of the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
