Ohio Mechanic's liens cannot be renewed. They expire on the sixth anniversary of the date they were filed. This does not mean that you don't still have a contract right to collect your money, although Ohio just shortened the statute of limitations from 15 years on written contracts entered into prior to the effective date of the statute, to 8 years. Verbal contracts are even shorter and would have likely expired by the expiration date of the Ohio Mechanic's Lien. Check my website. I have several articles and videos on mechanic's liens.
