The Dominican Republic was a Spain Colony and got it independance several times from severals countrys:
From Spain : 1 December 1821
* From Haiti (Which is the most importat independant for us and that's why is the independace day) 27 February 1844
* Then, we got anexed to spain again and gained independance once again in 16 August 1863 and 3 march 1865.
* Finally we got a United State invacion and got independance in 12 july 1924.
But legally our independence most importat for us was the second one from Haitian dominacion in 27 February 1844.
