Israel had four wars with Egypt:

in 1948 Egypt together with Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq attacked Israel just four hours after Israel proclaimed itself a State. This war got the name of the War of Independence. Israel won the war.

In 1956 Egypt nationalized the Suez Canal and closed the Straits of Tiran for any ships under Israeli flag, in clear violation of the International Maritime Law Israel together with Great Britain and France struck Egypt, pushed Egyptian forces 30 km from the Suez Canal and opened the Straits of Tiran. Under the pressure of the USA, great Britain, france and Israel had to withdraw, but the Straight of Tiran by the terms of the Armistice remained open for Israeli ships.

For Israel, the outcome was victorious.

In 1967, Egypt together with Syria and Jordan concentrated 300,000 strong army on the border with Israel and declared that it was going to attack it in order to end with Jewish presence in Palestine. In the pre-emptive strike, Israel annihilated all Egyptian aircraft on the airfields, and in the fast ground operation totally defeated Egypt. After that Israel regrouped troops and dealt two swift strikes on Syria and Jordan. The name of the war is Six Days war. it was a brilliant victory of Israel

In 1973, Egypt attacked Israel again. This war called Yom Kippur war was the most difficult for Israel but finally it "pocketed" the Egyptian Third Army and Israeli tank columns moved on the Egyptian capital Cairo without any Egyptian troops before them. Due to the pressure of the USA, Israel stopped the offensive on Cairo and the Armistice was signed between Israel and Egypt when Israeli tanks were 100 km from it.
