In 2001 the New Hampshire 300 was the season finale at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, originally scheduled for September 16, 2001 but postponed due to the 9/11 attacks. Since 2002, Homestead-Miami Speedway has been the last race of the Sprint Cup Series.
