He made wings so that he and his son Icarus could fly away. He tied feathers with stings and attached them to a base made of war. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun because the heat would melt the wax. However, the boy forgot this and begun to fly too high. His father shouted to warn him. However, the heat of the sun softened the wax and the feathers came off. Icarus fell into the sea and drowned.
