The largest desert in Africa is the Sahara Desert which is also the third largest desert in te world. It can also be called the Western Sahara desert. The largest desert in the world is Antarctica; although many people define deserts as a giant, hot and sandy piece of land, the correct definition is simply just a huge plain.
The Sonoran Desert also has sandy parts and the Sahara has rocky places.
There is no single desert known as the Great Western Desert. The Great Western Desert refers to the region in Australia made up of three deserts: the Gibson, the Great Sandy and the Great Victoria deserts. This region is primarily in Western Australia, and also includes part of the Northern Territory.
