According to a Wikipedia entry about Viswanath (the director of the movie Swathi Muthyam), it means Pure Pearl (see link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kasinadhuni_Viswanath) Swathi itself is a star. It also means a White Swan. The star is part of a constellation which looks like a LYRE or veena (which Goddess SarasSWATHI's instrument). Goddess Saraswathi is always dressed in white. 'Swathi' also indicates 'Swetha' (white colour). So "Swathi" when used in conjunction with other words means White implying Pure.

(From link - http://www.veenagayathri.com/DivienREVELATION.html) Muthyam means Pearl... So Swathi Muthyam means Pure Pearl
