The capital of the Republic of Greece is ATHENS. The capital of the Republic of Cyprus is NICOSIA. The two nations do not share one capital or one government. They are wholly distinct and self-sovereign nations. The only governmental commonality that they have is EU membership.

In the 1970s, there was an attempt to perform Enosis, which would have united Cyprus and Greece under a Greek government. But this was cut short both by the Turkish Invasion of Cyprus (which created the Turkish-Occupied zone of Cyprus) and by the Greek Cypriots wresting control of their government back from the Greek Unionists.
