- Certainly your Q is a bit too general - type of food, ambience, view, service, etc are all important to the answer. Albuquerque does NOT have a real large selection of sophisticated or wonderful upscale/classy type places...it does have some great food though! Certainly there are a zillion Mexican (especially New Mexican - a variation) restaurants. You can't help but find a good one. For standardly considered upscale type restaurants...Santa Fe isn't far away...and it has several world class names. And the recent addition of many casinos, each with a nice restaurant adds to the mix. Low brow..but a classic and frequently exceptional. The Quarters (the one near the airport)= roadhouse/bar type BBQ - but really a great one.
- El Modelo Mexican Foods is really good at: 1715 2nd St SW. It's been around since 1929 and is supposed to be the best Mexican in the state.
- "Yasmine's Cafe" on 1600 Central Ave SE is the one I would suggest as a best restaurant in Albuquerque.
- Casa de Benavidez at 8032 4th St NW has a patio that everyone raves about.
- Paul's Monterey Inn at 1000 Juan Tabo Blvd NE has great Prime Rib
- Dos Hermanos at 2435 Wyoming N E have great breakfast burritos & the tamales and enchiladas are supposed to be excellent!
