A location that is 7000 miles away from New York could be anywhere on the opposite side of the Earth, as the Earth's circumference is approximately 24,901 miles. This distance would place you roughly in the middle of the Indian ocean, near the islands of Mauritius or Réunion. To calculate the exact antipodal point from New York, you would need to consider the Earth's curvature and use mathematical formulas involving latitude and longitude.

Well, honey, if you want to get technical, 7000 miles away from New York could be anywhere in the world, from London to Tokyo to Antarctica. So, grab a globe, spin it around, and point your finger - chances are you'll land somewhere about 7000 miles away from the Big Apple. Happy travels!

Straight up would be somewhere in space depending on when you start your journey or it could be at any number of locations on planet earth depending on your chosen route. If you left from Rochester it might be Philadelphia if you drove from there to Miami, to Seattle, to Denver, to Phoenix, to Clarinda, Iowa, to Bangor Maine, to Atlanta to Baton Rouge and then headed to Philadelphia. Road conditions and detours could make a difference according to both MapQuest and Google.

Of course you can refer to the actual distance between the cities, rather than the distance over the road, but that wouldn't change much about the possible variety.
