First, there is a problem with the question. The largest lake totally within the boundaries of the state is Lake Sam Rayburn at 114,500 acres. The largest lake partially within Texas and partially in Louisiana is Toledo Bend Reservoir at 181,600 acres. Lake Texoma is partially within Oklahoma at 74,686 acres and Falcon Reservoir, partially in Mexico has 83,654 acres. Lake Livingston is the second largest lake, wholly within Texas at 90,00 acres and Lake Tawakoni is the third largest lake, wholly within Texas, at 37879 acres.
