Genesis 22:1-2 (King James Version)
"And it came to pass after these things, that God did attempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of."
It does not say in The Bible which mountain Abraham took his son, Isaac, to, but I my guess is that it was a small mountain that did not have a name.
He took his son to the mountain because God told him to. It was a test to see if Abraham would obey God. Once there, God told Abraham to kill Isaac. As Abraham was about to kill Isaac, God said "Stop, you have proven yourself to me"!
Mount Moriah where the temple stood and where Calvary was located, and where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac is the same limestone mountain.
God asked Abraham to take his son and sacrifice him. This proved how loyal Abraham was to God and because of that God told Abraham that he would sacrifice his son instead....
You are probably thinking of Abraham, and the mountain was Mount Moriah.
No Moses is not the son of Abraham, it was Isaac who was Abraham son.
I think you mean, "Abraham sacrificed his son" as there is no record in the Bible of Isaiah sacrificing his son; although neither did Abraham sacrifice his son, though he intended to, but was prevented at the last moment by God. The name of this mountain was not mentioned in the Bible, and was not near Jerusalem, but Jesus was sacrificed on Mt Calvary near Jerusalem.
According to the narrative in Genesis, he took wood, a knife, his son Isaac, a few assistants, and donkeys to ride on. When they reached Mount Moriah, the donkeys and the assistants stayed behind, while Abraham, Isaac, the wood and the knife proceeded up the mountain.
To paraphrase Abraham's reply, he said "Whatever happens, be careful not to do that."
The son of Abraham and Hagar was Ishmael.
Abraham of the High Mountain died in 406.
It says, God spoke to Abraham and commanded him to take his son to Mount Moriah and offer him as a sacrifice to God. This was God's test of Abraham's faith. Abraham loved his son very much, but did not hesitate to follow God's words for he was a man whose faith in God was strong. As Abraham and his son reached the place where the sacrifice was to be performed, Isaac said to his father, "Father, where is the lamb that is to be sacrificed?" Abraham replied, "My son, God will provide the lamb". Because, Abraham was honest to his God, his son was also honest to his father Abraham.
Saul was a descendant of Abraham. He lived some 900 years after Abraham.
