The term dubbed can have two different meanings. When a film or TV series has been dubbed, then it has been voiced over with a different language. When something has been given a nickname, it has been dubbed that name.
Secretary of State John Hay dubbed the Spanish-American War "a splendid little war" as the Spanish-American War is the shortest war in U.S. history with only 460 casualties. Also, the U.S. gained several territories which were then used for economical purposes: Guam, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines.
John Stockton had the nickname "Stock" through most of his career. Jim Rome dubbed him the "Pasty Gangsta" but it was not used much.
Wagner was dubbed The Flying Dutchman because he was a fast base runner.
LBJ = Little Blue Jesus, which is a nickname that has been dubbed to Chris Johnson of the Titans.
There is a website called Chinese Dubbed, and offers American films which are dubbed in Mandarin Chinese. It's however very difficult to translate English into Chinese because the languages differ immensely. An American film will be very different after it is dubbed into Chinese.

Lü Bu was a 2nd Century BCE Chinese general during the Eastern Han Dynasty. He excelled as a horseman and archer, and was dubbed the Flying General.
