There are many cities in the United States that have underground areas. Some of these are tunnels under cities like Chicago that were used for delivery liqueur during Prohibition. Then, there are places like in Atlanta and Seattle. When Atlanta burned they build over the old city and the result was an underground Atlanta. In the 1970's the area was fixed up and became a place of restaurants and shops. It had gas lights and was very nice. Underground Seattle is a little more basic. Again the city built over the foundation of the older city and today you can take tours of underground Seattle. There you will see the store fronts, banks, shops, and other places. It has not been fixed up so it is in rubble and dusty. In San Francisco there are some parts that are underground, but these are not open to see or view. Many old cities in the States and around the world have layers of past cities under the modern city.
