Economically NO. However they are developing rapidly after ending the 30 years war with Tamil Tiger Terrorists. Sri Lanka is very rich in natural beauty and its rich history. Sri Lanka has a great written history more than 2500 years old. True history is going beyond 25000 years when King Ravana (founder of aero plane) was ruling the country. Economically Sri Lanka is still not rich however Sri Lankan people can survive with what they have. Country is highly rich in Natural Resources. Sri Lankans are very rich in hospitability. They welcome and treat foreigners nicely. Sri Lanka is an island and it is a great place to travel. It is economical but there are lots of things to see in Sri Lanka. Seegiriya one of world wonders is also located in Sri Lanka.

yes, Sri Lanka is a very beautiful country. you can see the trees everywhere. Also the people are very nice always keep smiling even though they have many problems. Also, it is very intertesting country to see. For example most people wear watches and they are so crazy of having a watch but they never work on time, even the big politicians and officials also work vey late. also sri Lanka has the highest number of holidays for a year.about 26. It has been a one of the issue why some foreigners don't like to start business in the country. Also the other interesting issue, most people have two or more mobile phones and so, sri Lanka can be one of the countries in Asia which has the highest number of mobile phone users.

However it also boasts some of the richest citizens in the world too.
