I thought about that today as I was on my way to a diving job in Alaska in the middle of winter. Water, and air, contain molecules that touch other molecules and steal thier energy. Water is denser than air so steals energy faster (you can die in the water I was diving in less than 15min). But space has nearly no particles. Virtually all heat transfers via radiation. That means that even thought space is -459f in the absence of radiation, it would not steal energy away from you as fast as being naked in antartica in the winter, or skinnny dipping in arctic water in the winter. So in a practical sence space would not be colder than Antarctica in the winter.
mount Everest is colder than Antarctica
Antarctica is colder than Hawaii, 100% of the time.
Antarctica covers 10% of the earth's surface. The interior of the continent is colder than at the beaches.
yes it is colder than the artic
It is about 100 degrees Colder Than texas!
Antarctica is colder than Alaska
Yes
Antarctica is colder than the arctic because it is a continent with high elevation, which is about 2,800 meters above sea level. The continent is considered a heat-sink for planet earth. Antarctica is about 30 degrees F colder than the Arctic.
No. Antarctica will always be colder than Christchurch, New Zealand.
The two climates are not the same. Antarctica is far colder than North America, as is the Arctic. Antarctica is about 30 degrees F colder than the Arctic.
Yes, Antarctica is about 30 degrees F colder than the Arctic, because it is a continent. The Arctic is open water and sea ice.
Yes, it isAnother AnswerAntarctica is a land mass, which holds the cold, unlike the the northern polar region, which is water covered by sea ice. Antarctica is about 30 degrees F colder than the northern polar climes.
