We have Texas Wild Flowers around our New Building and they looked Great last year. However, until the flowers fully bloom the kind of look like weeds. We're proud of our wild flowers and want to educate visitor's by putting up Signage. Is there any "Official" Texas Wild Flowers? Please send responds to roger.weiss@christushealth.org
Your answer depends on where you find them growing that you want to pick. You may be allowed to pick them along the roadside, unless there is a sign expressly forbidding it. In a national forest or a national park, for example, you are not allowed to pick wild flowers.
Yes, if they are picked from a public place, any wild flowers are illegal to pick as they are considered public property
If you live in Texas, it is illegal to pick a Blue bonnet if it is not one you are growing. If the Blue Bonnet was planted by the state of Texas, or is growing in the wild, it is illegal to pick that Blue Bonnet. If you are growing a Blue Bonnet in your back or front yard, it is not illegal to pick it.
From all the yellow wild flowers found there, Amarillo, Texas received its name.

Most likely. I believe that it is against the law to have wild animals as pets. Sorry.
Sure you can. Is it legal? Yes, mostly. You aren't allowed to trespass, and you aren't allowed to damage another's property -- not even the State's property, which would include roadsides. There's an excellent article in "Related links" below about picking Texas' state flower, the bluebonnet, from roadsides. The article also mentions other flowers in other areas, and gives links to special plants that actually are protected.
