Part of it is yes, the plate that it is setting on is shifting, this will happen globally with other plates that the continents are resting on. People should move away from the beaches and travel inland. The extinction of the human race will not occur, however massive changes are here and they will continue to worsen in severity, whether our "news media" and I use that term lightly is willing to shed light on this truth or not.
