WHAT DOES A PRISON GUARD MAKE AT LOEE ARRENDALE STATE PRISON?
Lowest ranked correction officer averages $59,000/year in IL. In MO it's about $28,000/year. That's right, IL pays over twice as much. And in IL the average retire age is 53, by that time many are even making over 100k a year. Google search IL state salaries and check for yourself, it's why the state is broke.
It's about 74,000 dollars a year once you top out in salary. It takes 7 years to top out. When you come out of the academy the first year you'll start making about $18 bucks an hour, and you're guaranteed 40 hours per week. You get a 5% bump twice a year for the first two years, and then once a year for five years. There are incentives such as physical fitness pay ($65 dollars a month the first five years and $130 after that), $120 a month if you're bilingual, $130 a month for education pay (60+ units), and longevity pay once you hit the 17 year mark. You're paid during the four month academy, and the pay is in the $16-$18 dollar an hour range. The retirement system is PERS, and currently the formula is calculated at 2.5% at 55. That means you get 2.5% of your top wage for every year you work (excluding overtime and any incentives such as education or physical fitness pay). For example, if you retire after working 30 you will retire with 75% of your salary (30 * .025= 75%). You will have to have a clean background (no felonies, clean credit, a good reputation with family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors), pass a physical fitness exam, and a psychological background. The pay is really good relative to the educational requirement (GED/High School diploma). The down sides are the working environment (very negative and stressful, long hours, working nights and holidays), and listening to people say you make too much money who have no idea what it's like to work in a prison, and who would probably make a big rubbery one the first time they saw someone get their throat cut.
41 dollars

how much does the town clerk of amesbury massachusetts make
The average inmate to prison guard ratio varies depending on the jurisdiction and type of prison facility. In some cases, the ratio might be as low as 1:1, meaning one guard per inmate, while in others it can be much higher, reaching 10 or more inmates per guard. It is important to note that overcrowding in prisons can impact this ratio, making it more difficult for guards to effectively manage and supervise inmates.
not much
$37,000
In the US it depends on the state in which the prison is located. Whether it is a state or federal prison. And, what type of job.
Alcatraz has been closed as a prison since the early 60s, so there are no prison guards there. Either you are thinking of San Quentin, and the average there is just under $100,000 I believe, or.... The people in uniform you are referring to on Alcatraz are Park Rangers, as Alcatraz is now a part of the US Park system (hence tourism). Hope that helps.
About $30 an hour, unless they get raped.
very little. prison guards in the US however make a ton.
